Looking for a hotel in Montreal this new years? Good luck. Ok, just kidding. However if you are looking at montreal hotels for new years there are several things one needs to consider:

Rates are inflated: expect to pay over $100 a night for a decent hotel, good 4 stars start at $150+
They sell out Quick: book now not later, don’t wait for your friends to book by the time they are in it might be too late
Minimum stays: a lot of the hotels require a minimum of 2 nights stay
Hotels charge occupancy fee’s if there are more than 2 people in the room, min $20 extra per person.
Do your homework: often that $70 a night hotel you found will require a $15 cab ride every time you want to go somewhere or even worse isnt even in downtown Montreal!
Look for package deals. I know Montreal VIP offers some of the best hotels for new years at good prices
Ask about security guards, some of the big tour operators like breakaway tours have security guards on each of the floors. Talk about a buzz kill…

Well it is that time of year again! I think I am only now recovering from last years new years celebration (jk). My pre-new years resolution is to update this blog more often. I will bring you the best Montreal New Years Eve 2009 information out there, From what are the best true open bar parties to what hotels to stay. For example: did you know that most of the tour operators stick you in three star hotels with security guards on each floor? Or that the party might be open bar but not all night long? Among them is a new event entertainment page which highlights a live cabaret performance that will take place at the party before midnight; also, a Gourmet Buffet will be available during the night.
